Beyonce's Baby is Here: Blue Ivy Carter

(January 9, 2012) Beyonce and Jay-Z had their little girl on Saturday.  The singer delivered daughter Blue Ivy Carter in New York via a scheduled c-section, E! News reports.

There’s a lot of speculation about the meaning of baby Blue’s name.  New York Daily News suggests that the name Blue may be inspired by the rapper Jay-Z’s music. 

Their daughter’s middle name may be symbolic of a significant date for the couple.  IV, the Roman numerals for the number 4, may be where the name “Ivy” came from, according to rumors.  The couple both share a birthday on the fourth of the month and they were married on the fourth as well. 

This is just what the rumor mill has come up with though.  The couple hasn’t shared an official explanation for the baby’s name with the press.
