The Big Latch On! Breastfeeders Attempt to Break a World Record

By JustMommies

This Saturday, August 6th, breastfeeding moms will attempt to break a world record for the most women breastfeeding at one time.  The event, sponsored by the La Leche League in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, will start at 10:30am at locations around the country.

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated from August 1 to 7 in over 170 countries as a way to raise awareness about breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.  This year’s theme is “Talk to Me!  Breastfeeding – a 3D Experience” and focuses on encouraging communication about breastfeeding through the use of new social media.

For more information on World Breastfeeding Week visit www.worldbreastfeedingweek.org.  If you would like to participate in “The Big Latch On” visit www.biglatchon.org or the La Leche League to find an event location or more information.
